Despite having gone on many of these Coffee Meets Bagel dates, I still couldn’t stop myself from being nervous every single time. We made plans to meet at Sharetea and I got there a bit early, nervously anticipating her arrival. Will she show up? What if I don’t recognize her? What should we talk about? A thousand thoughts were racing through my head. Then I saw her, wearing a black trench coat, so cool and stylish. I mustered up courage and walked up to ask if she was Theresa.
We got our boba teas and I took her to check out a closeby art exhibit. We talked about everything and chatting with her felt very comfortable. Some chemistry began to brew and I was afraid she’d noticed the nervous pitch in my voice. I really wanted to extend the date asked if she would like to grab dinner. Working at OpenTable, I wanted to show off my skills, but to be honest, I wasn’t familiar with the neighborhood I was in. Luckily Suppenküche was near nearby and she was opened to German food.
We were squished with two other parties at our table, but we continued our lively conversation over beer and pretzels and having a jolly fun time. I was on floating on clouds. By the end of the night, I couldn’t wait to meet her again. I texted her that same night and asked her out again. She told me she was busy that weekend, but would like to go on another date when she returns. *fist pump*
We made plans to go watch a comedy show the following Friday. That week dragged on and on. I recalled having trouble falling asleep due to the anticipation. Friday finally rolls around and we meet up after work. I made the mistake of ordering an UberPool for our ride to Cobb’s Comedy Club, and till this day, she still won’t let me forget about it. The comedian performing was really funny, but I couldn’t really focus on him. Throughout the night, I kept stealing looks at Theresa and listening to her cute laugh. Little did I know, I was already falling for her.
